Duties

Through the ISBE grant funded Regional Work Experience Career Exploration Program, ROE #11 seeks a qualified individual to provide appropriate school to work activities for students at our three Bridges locations.  The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching classes and overseeing work opportunities at Lerna, Paris, and Shelbyville Bridges.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will bring a great deal of real world experience that will benefit our students as they build the necessary skill base to navigate the modern workplace environment.  Ideally, the successful candidate will possess a CTE license, but at minimum a CTE-ELS license.  ROE #11 can assist individuals seeking to obtain the ELS-CTE license using previous work experience.

Salary/Benefits

A competitive salary and benefits package will be determined based upon qualifications and experience.

Additional Notes

The need for quality workers in Central Illinois is increasing in most industries as shown in the IDES State of Illinois Industry Employment Projections to 2026.  Help wanted signs and advertisements are ubiquitous throughout Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Moultrie, and Shelby Counties.  Many businesses have been forced to limit business hours and/or reduce services offered due to a lack of acceptable applicants for open positions.  Local restaurants, retail establishments, and manufacturing businesses are actively seeking out workers that possess the job skills and personal attributes necessary to be successful employees.  The need for career and technical education has perhaps never been greater as schools are being asked to provide the education and training necessary to facilitate the transition between K-12 education and participation in the workforce.  As the rapidly changing needs of employers continues to evolve, CTE will likely play a key role in matching freshly graduated job seekers with employers looking to fill positions.
