Duties
Promotion of Independent Reading:
- Maintain an attractive learning environment in the library.
- Assist students and teachers in securing desired materials that support independent reading, research, and classroom projects
- Provide engaging book talks to encourage student interest in book titles and authors
- Develop library and school-based activities which will stimulate student interest in all types of books such as book clubs, contests, etc.
- Promote independent reading as aligned to district literacy framework.
Library Manger Tasks:
- Follow district protocols for selecting and discarding books in library collection.
- Process new books following district protocols and shelve in library
- Provide requested book purchases for approval to district administration.
- Request supplies necessary to the operation of the library.
- Maintain inventory of books and circulation records.
- Proficiency in library management system (Destiny)
Online Intervention Liaison:
- Implement online intervention structure for district/school required resources including training, student rostering, data collection/distribution and student/teacher support.
- Develop a schedule for online interventions in collaboration with administration and teaching staff.
- Provide online interventions for students in Tier 2 and Tier 3, sharing individual student progress with teacher and problem-solving team if applicable.
- Attend all staff meetings scheduled by the building principal.
- Attend trainings for library managers and library staff meetings scheduled by district administrators.
- Participate in feeder school district meetings with high school librarian.
- Perform such other duties and assume such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the building principal or District Curriculum Administration.
Qualifications
* MUST HAVE A VALID ILLINOIS PARAPROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE REGISTERED IN PEORIA COUNTY
* MUST PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL, TB TEST, AND DRUG/ALCOHOL SCREENING
* MUST PASS A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK
