Duties

To provide excellence in education by establishing an environment that facilitates student learning encourages the realization of personal potential, and contributes to students’ development as mature, able, and responsible adults.

Qualifications

• Appropriate licensure or eligibility for teaching Spanish at the middle school level in the State of Illinois.
• An undergraduate or graduate degree in the teaching of the Spanish language.
• Three or more years teaching experience at the middle school level is preferred.
• A strong background in Spanish culture.
• Knowledge of and a commitment to a child-centered approach to teaching and working with adolescents.
• Imagination, efficiency, and organization so creative ideas can be maximized in an individualized classroom.
• The ability to communicate effectively and proactively with students, parents, and colleagues.
• The ability to work cooperatively with colleagues in a team setting, including the creation of interdisciplinary curricular units.
• Familiarity with common computer software technology.
• A high energy level and willingness to devote the time required of the position.

Salary/Benefits

Salary and fringe benefits will be established in accordance with the Winnetka Public Schools School Board and the WEA Professional Agreement.
