Duties
Lexington High School is looking for an English Teacher to join our team. The position is for the 2026-27 school year, beginning in August 2026 and will provide English Language Arts instruction to high school students. Full-time preferred; consideration will be given to part-time applicants.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must hold a Professional Educator’s License in the State of Illinois: 9-12 certification is required; 6-12 is preferred. Priority will be given to applicants with certification to teach additional subjects and to those with the credentials to teach Dual Credit English classes.
Salary/Benefits
Salary and benefits are regionally competitive and determined by experience in conjunction with the negotiated agreement. The district offers a competitive benefits package and salaries range from $39,333.50 to $77,093.66, depending upon experience and post-bachelor's degree education.
Additional Notes
Our district recently completed several renovations and additions to our building and contains an elementary-, a junior high-, and a high school, all of which are high achieving and have received numerous accolades. Our high school has received “Exemplary” State Designation six out of seven years, and staff enjoy small class sizes with respectful, well-behaved students. The City of Lexington is an easy 20 minute drive from Bloomington-Normal.
