Duties
Rochelle Township High School (RTHS) will have an opening for a School Counselor or Social Worker for the 2026–2027 school year. This position will be primarily responsible for supporting students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and requires a strong background in special education.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting students in the development of post-secondary plans
- Assisting with student scheduling
- Providing guidance on scholarships and college applications
- Coordinating and supporting state testing requirements
- Addressing students’ post–high school career planning and social-emotional learning needs
- Performing other duties as assigned by the building principal
RTHS is a comprehensive high school serving approximately 850 students and is staffed by four school counselors. This position works collaboratively within the student services team to ensure students with IEPs receive comprehensive academic, career, and social-emotional support.
Qualifications
Illinois Professional Educator Licensure and master's degree in School Counselor, social work, and background in special education or someone with thier principal endorsement. Someone who is Bilingual in Spanish is highly sought after.
Salary/Benefits
Competitive Salary (base salary for 25-26 Masters $49,255 $89,953), full paid TRS, full single health insurance and dental, and $20,000 Term Life Insurance. Counselors also work approximately additional 15 days in the summer for additional pay. There will also be additional stipends available for extracurriculars.
