Duties
The primary duty of the teacher is to develop lesson plans and deliver engaging, differentiated instruction that is aligned with Common Core State Standards. The classroom teacher must collaborate with other teachers, staff members, and administration to address a variety of instructional issues. The classroom teacher must communicate with students and parents/guardians regarding instructional programs and student progress. The classroom teacher is responsible for creating an environment of respect and rapport and establishing a culture for learning in which safety and order are a norm. It is expected that the candidate is a child-centered professional with a high degree of energy, flexibility and initiative. The teacher will be required to lead instruction in the area of English/Language Arts. For these classes the teacher must maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and district policy. Leland School is looking for a motivated educator that is willing to contribute not only inside the classroom but throughout the entire building.
Qualifications
Have a PEL from ISBE with a Middle School Language Arts Endorsement.
