Duties

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily in every classroom

  • Empty and clean pencil sharpeners
  • Empty garbage and replace liner
  • Dry erase boards are to be cleaned with appropriate cleaner
  • Board trays wiped down
  • Counter top wiped down
  • Desks/tables in order
  • Vacuum carpets
  • Mop floors
  • Make sure windows and doors are locked
  • Desks, tables, chairs sprayed and wiped with sanitizer/disinfectant
  • Windows and door windows cleaned

Daily in all bathrooms

  • Clean toilets and urinals
  • Clean sinks
  • Clean mirrors
  • Sweep and mop floors
  • Fill in sanitary items when needed in girls bathroom/locker room
  • Empty garbage and replace liner
  • Check and fill all paper towel, toilet paper holders and soap dispensers

 

Other cleaning

  • All garbage is to be taken out to the dumpster before leaving
  • Fill hand sanitizer units as needed
  • After school games – priority cleaning of all bathrooms
  • Vacuum all carpets in the hallways/entryways
  • Sweep hallways daily (and mop when necessary, at least once a week)
  • Do final walk of the building and be sure all windows and doors are securely locked.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Set-up for lunch (setting up tables and wiping tables down)
  • Cleaning up from lunch (wiping down tables, taking down tables)
  • Sweeping and cleaning of kitchen area
  • Communicates with building administrator on other cleaning aspects that need to be done
  • Minor repairs when needed
  • Weekly inventory of cleaning items needed 
  • Keeps buildings and premises, including sidewalks, driveways and play areas neat and clean at all times
  • Performs all other duties assigned by the Administration and Board of Education

Qualifications

  • High School education or equivalent
  • Ability to manage tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to maintain congenial, positive and productive working relationships with students, staff and public
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and logical manner
  • Possess physical condition and strength necessary to perform required duties
  • Ability to lift 25+ lbs.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet time constraints
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication skills; can follow written and oral instructions

Salary/Benefits

12 month contract with paid holidays, sick days, vacation days

Health insurance, life insurance - available employee paid dental, vision insurance 

40 hour work week - 8:30 - 5:00 (1/2 unpaid lunch)

$16.00 - $21.00 depending on experience
