Duties

1. Report to the building office/principal upon arrival 15 minutes before the official opening of the school day;

2. Review with the building principal or school secretary all plans and schedules to be followed during the school day;

3. Assume responsibility for overseeing student behavior in class, in hallways, and during lunch and recess periods under his/her direct supervision

4. Understand that under no circumstances should corporal punishment (paddling) be used as a disciplinary tool;

5. Write a note to the regular teacher at the end of the day listing information about assignments covered, work completed, problems that occurred, and any other information that is pertinent;

6. Remain in assigned area at least 10 minutes after the last child has left the direct supervision of the teacher;

7. Report to the building principal or school secretary at the conclusion of the school day, notifying him/her about any concerns or problems that may require immediate attention;

8. Verify in the office whether or not his/her services will be required on the next school day;Perform such other duties as assigned by the principal;

9. Perform such other duties as assigned by the principal.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree

2. Illinois teaching certificate or Substitute teaching certificate obtained from ROE

3. Prompt, organized, and flexible

4. Demonstrates familiarity with school, philosophy, program, and polices

5. Other requirements as deemed necessary by School Board

Salary/Benefits

Salary and work year determined by union contract and in compliance with the Illinois School Code.
