Duties
The primary role of the Student Advocate will be to promote social-emotional learning and support at-risk students in grades 4-12 who are identified by a participating school district. Students eligible for the program will be identified as struggling in one or more of the following domains: academics, attendance, and/or behavior. A student success plan will be designed to create goals centered around these domains to increase grade level promotion and graduation rates. Along with academic and attendance support, our advocates will build relationships and foster positive engagement with students by infusing social-emotional learning and behavioral support during the school day. Duties include working with families to identify and achieve goals, promote positive parent-child relationships, increase parent engagement with their students' education and eliminate barriers families may encounter when accessing school or community resources. Coordination with other community services providers who serve the same family will be embedded into service delivery and support.
