Duties

District Technology Coordinator duties will include: manage/maintain firewalls and servers, manage cyber security plan, manage/maintain all district devices, assist in developing the technology budget, develop and implement district technology plan, hardware procurement, chair and lead district technology committee, responsive to technology issues, implement and enforce district AUP, manage 1:1 initiative at K-12, manage assistant technology coordinator, other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in related field. Masters degree a plus. Type 75 Administrative License a plus. Experience as an IT administrator. Ability to trouble shoot technology related issues. Experience maintaining computer and network infrastructures. Ability to relate to others and communicate well/conduct staff trainings. We are a Microsoft 365 district.

Regionally competitive and will be discussed with the final candidate. Health, dental, and life insurance provided. In addition, district will pay full IMRF retirement benefit. District Director of Technology

Are you passionate about technology and education? Do you have experience managing and maintaining a network system for a school district? If so, we want to hear from you!

We are looking for a District Director of Technology to oversee all aspects of our technology department, including hardware, software, security, infrastructure, budgeting, training and support. You will be responsible for ensuring that our technology resources are aligned with our educational goals and meet the needs of our students, staff and community.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field
  • At least five years of experience in technology management or administration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and services
  • Knowledge of Linux systems and open-source software
  • Knowledge of Power Automate and Adobe sign or similar tools
  • Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders

As a District Director of Technology, you will:

  • Plan, implement and evaluate the district’s technology vision and strategy
  • Manage and maintain the district’s network system, including servers, switches, routers, firewalls and backups
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations regarding data privacy and security
  • Provide technical support and training to staff and students on various technology platforms and tools
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors on technology purchases, installations and upgrades
  • Monitor and manage the technology budget and inventory
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of the technology staff
