Duties

To develop in each student an appreciation of the art of music as part of the general culture; to teach techniques of vocal and/or instrumental music expression; to discover and develop talents of pupils in the field of music; and to develop knowledge and skills in listening and reading music. Candidates must have the ability and skills necessary to teach all aspects of an elementary/middle school music curriculum guided by the Illinois State Standards. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the concepts of a professional learning community including the collaborative skills needed to work effectively on a team. Additionally, they will have an understanding of curriculum development and best practices for music instruction. Further, candidates will be asked to demonstrate through discussion, knowledge of the intellectual, social, and personal skills of elementary children as well as knowledge of diversity in learning instruction, assessment, and classroom management.

Qualifications

•Holds a valid Illinois Professional Educator’s License with Music Endorsement. •Minimum of three years of experience preferred, but not required.

Salary/Benefits

Salary: Aligned with the Country Club Hills SD #160 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
