Duties

Mid-State Special Education is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director of Special Education effective July 1, 2023 following the retirement of the current Director and Assistant Director. This individual serves as the full-time State-Approved Director of Special Education for all member districts and the chief administrative officer of the cooperative reporting to the MSSE Executive Committee and the MSSE Governing Board. Qualifications

ISBE Professional Educator License with the Director of Special Education endorsement; Master’s Degree in Special Education or Related Specialty Field; special education administrative experience; excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management skills

Salary/Benefits

A 12-month contract with regionally competitive salary and benefits, commensurate with experience and qualifications, will be negotiated with the finalist.
