Duties
The Vermilion Association for Special Education is seeking a part or full or part-time school counselor to provide counseling services to students with disabilities for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year (and following years). Duties would include the completion of social developmental studies, student assessments, and implementation of individual/group counseling. The guidance counselor would also assist in writing IEP goals for students with counseling needs. Training will be provided, if needed, on IEP writing. The Vermilion Association for Special Education provides services to 10 members districts: Armstrong Ellis, Armstrong Township High School, Bismarck-Henning, Potomac, Hoopeston, Georgetown Ridge Farm, Oakwood, Westville, Salt Fork, and Rossville-Alvin. The Vermilion Association for Special Education has a large group of school social workers and counselors who consistently collaborate. VASE provides numerous professional development opportunities for support staff.
Qualifications
IBSE School Counselor Licensure is preferred, but not required. LCPC/LCP will be considered for the position.
Salary/Benefits
Competitive with excellent benefits package. Pay scale begins at MS +45 for counselors. A $2000 yearly stipend is offered for National Certification.
