Duties
JOB GOAL: To administer the business affairs and supervise district operations in such a way as to provide the best possible support services for the educational program with the financial resources available and to assist the Superintendent substantially and effectively with the management of the district. Manage and supervise the collection, safekeeping, investment and distribution of all district funds. 2. Administer, manage and supervise all financial affairs and business operations of the district utilizing sound business practices and generally accepted accounting principles to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations. 3. Coordinate and direct the development of the annual budget and supervise a program for budgetary control. 4. Oversee long-range financial planning and analysis. 5. Establish and supervise a program of accounting and reporting for the financial affairs of the District. 6. Supervise business data management systems to provide information required for: 1) daily functions; 2) monthly quarterly and yearly financial reports and analysis; 3) long range planning. 7. Administer a program for purchasing supplies, equipment and services necessary for the operation of the school. 8. Administer, through the Director of Building and Grounds, the maintenance of all buildings and grounds and plant operations. 9. Work with architect to develop comprehensive plan of action for ensuring that the district meets all objectives as it relates to any capital and life safety projects. 10. Administer the student transportation program. 11. Administer the school cafeteria and food service program through the School Food Service Director. 12. Direct all levels of district insurance coverage including: worker’s compensation; property and casualty; boiler; automotive; liability; school board legal liability; student accident and employee health, life or voluntary insurance plans and other employee benefit programs. 13. Administer a risk management program in order to: 1) ensure the health, safety and security of all visitors, employees and students; 2) ensure that the districts buildings, grounds and vehicles are maintained in a safe condition; and 3) to provide for the supervision and protection of the District’s real and personal property. 14. Administer community use of school facilities program. 15. Participate in the negotiation and subsequent interpretation of all contracts relating to district personnel. 16. Consult with the Superintendent and other personnel on questions relating to the district’s business and financial operations including consultation on financial and reporting requirements for any grants. 17. Attend Board Meetings, prepare reports to the Board as directed by the Superintendent and advise the Superintendent and the Board on any district business, financial or operational questions. 18. Perform any other duties assigned by the Superintendent.
Qualifications
• Master’s degree in education, business management, or accounting • Illinois Professional Educator's License with General Administrative endorsement with State of Illinois Chief School Business Official Endorsement • A minimum of five years of experience in a public school setting, performing management, business or fiscal support services, collective bargaining and related functions and at least three years of supervisory capacity • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Salary/Benefits
$125,000 to $140,000 salary range. Commensurate with individual's background and experience.
