Position Type: 4th Grade Teacher
Location: Hillside School
Salary Range: Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement
Duties:
- Demonstrates appropriate academic planning
- Is objective and consistent in student assessment
- Implements district curriculum
- Sets objectives which are clear and student centered
- Creates lessons which follow a logical and orderly sequence
- Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of subject area(s)
- Motivates students
- Provides clear and concise directions
- Maximizes student learning and involvement
- Uses a variety of teaching methods to meet the needs of each student
- Maintains and encourages appropriate student behavior
- Establishes clear expectations for the students
- Deals fairly and consistently with student behavior problems
- Provides positive reinforcement
- Exhibits a positive and professional attitude
- Exercises general supervision over all students during school hours and at all school sponsored events
- Establishes and maintains an environment which is safe, orderly and is conducive to learning
- Cooperates with and is responsible to the principal
- Follows and implements district procedures and policies
- Participates in professional activities and organizations
- Actively seeks professional growth
- Plans for and utilizes support staff when applicable
- Demonstrates professional interactions with students and colleagues
- Accepts evaluation and redirection in a professional manner.
- Is consistent in attendance
- Is punctual with reports, records and communications
- Cooperates with and is responsible to the principal
Qualifications:
- Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and be properly certified to meet Illinois Teaching License Standards
- A Professional Educator License (PEL) with Elementary Endorsement
