Duties

Role and Responsibility

  • Teaching Band, Choir, and Guitar classes at the high school
  • Supervising, instructing, and coordinating all activities related to HS Marching Band, Pep Band and Concert band
  • Planning, rehearsing, and directing musical experiences for the school and community with evening performances included
  • Cooperating with school administration in providing music programs for school productions, graduation ceremonies, etc.
  • Overseeing scheduling and other arrangements for the rehearsals and concerts in cooperation with the building principal
  • Submitting budget needs in accordance with established procedures and timelines
  • Planning and implementing a balanced music program for students at the intermediate school (Grades 4-6)
  • Recruiting and instructing 6th grade beginning band and coordinating related activities, programs, and concerts
  • Recruiting and instructing 6th grade Choir
  • Ordering all supplies and materials necessary for band-related activities in accordance with established district procedures and budget guidelines
  • Controlling storage, repair, and use of school-owned equipment and materials

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education
  • Valid PEL
  • Expertise in knowledge and teaching of instrumental music
  • Strong Organization Ability and Skill in Interpersonal Relations
