Candidates must be willing to serve as a collaborative team member on the district's CARE continuous improvement team to enhance students' experiences in Citizenship, Achievement, Respect and Engagement. Teaching duties will include, but not limited to, K-12 Art classes. Collaboration with Literacy and Social Science departments will be expected to create engaging and challenging integrated learning opportunities for students.


Candidates must have a current Illinois Type 10 Special Teaching Certificate with an Art endorsement or Illinois Certification to teach K-12 Art.

Additional Notes

Western CUSD 12 is a small but progressive unit district with a high school (WHS) for grades 9-12 and an elementary school (WES) for grades K-5 located in Barry, Illinois and a junior high school (WJHS) for grades 6-8 located in Kinderhook, Illinois. All classrooms have SmartBoard technology with professional development for interactive instruction. Professional Learning Communities meet monthly during early dismissal for continuous school improvement. New teachers will be provided with one day of new teacher orientation prior to the start of school in August.
