Principal

Duties

Pearl City School District #200 is seeking a dynamic, student-centered educational leader to serve as Principal. The successful candidate will foster a positive school culture, support academic excellence, develop strong relationships with students, staff, families, and the community, and ensure a safe and effective learning environment. The specific grade-level assignment will be determined based on district needs and the qualifications of the selected candidate.

  • Provide instructional leadership that promotes high levels of student achievement and continuous school improvement.
  • Supervise, support, and evaluate certified and non-certified staff.
  • Develop and maintain a positive school climate that encourages student success, staff collaboration, and family engagement.
  • Lead curriculum implementation, instructional practices, and assessment initiatives aligned with district goals.
  • Use data to guide decision-making and school improvement efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Manage school operations, including scheduling, budgeting, safety planning, and student discipline.
  • Collaborate with district administration, staff, parents, and community stakeholders.
  • Promote equity, inclusion, and access to opportunities for all students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field.
  • Valid Principal or Administrative License/Endorsement as required by the Illinois State Board of Education.
  • Successfully completed all required Illinois State Board of Education academies for staff evaluation prior to July 1, 2027.
  • Successful teaching and administrative experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership in curriculum, instruction, and school improvement.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous growth and student achievement.
  • Visionary and collaborative leadership style.
  • Energetic and intrinsically motived to multitask various duties simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to build and foster positive relationships with students, staff, families, and community members.
  • Knowledge of current educational practices, instructional strategies, and school improvement processes.
  • Can demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning.

Salary and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience in accordance with district policies and contractual agreements.
