District Band Teacher Share: Print: Duties Instruction & Curriculum: Teach instrumental techniques, music theory, sight-reading, and musicianship to students of varying skill levels. Ensemble Direction: Direct, rehearse, and conduct concert bands, jazz bands, and/or marching bands for school performances, competitions, and community events. Lesson Planning: Develop engaging lesson plans and select a diverse, level-appropriate repertoire that challenges and motivates students. Program Management: Oversee the band budget, maintain an inventory of school-owned instruments, and order sheet music. Event Coordination: Plan and execute logistics for concerts, field trips, festivals, and half-time shows (including transportation and permissions). Student Assessment: Evaluate student progress through auditions, playing tests, and written assignments, providing constructive feedback. Community Engagement: Communicate regularly with parents and the school administration Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field.
