Position Overview
The Assistant Campus Minister/Choir teacher works with the Director of Campus Ministry and is responsible for helping to create an environment which encourages and guides all school stakeholders to contribute to the Catholic identity of Marian Catholic High School and the formation of a faith community which responds to the diverse spiritual needs of the students, faculty, staff, and parents. As Choir teacher, this individual will be responsible for planning and delivering a choral music program that fosters students’ musical growth, creativity, and appreciation of music and prepares students for performances while supporting the overall mission of Marian Catholic High School.
Job Responsibilities
- Assists in the planning and facilitation of service activities to be conducted by Marian Catholic students.
- Preparation and set up for liturgical events (Masses, prayer services).
- Assists in the planning of staff retreats.
- Assists in the preparation and facilitation of class retreats.
- Assists in the coordination of the yearly Lenten Mission Drive.
- Programming as needed/requested throughout the school year.
- Assists in the development and implementation of spiritual programs and religious/service activities.
- Assists in the planning and facilitation of Marian Catholic High School’s Kairos retreat program.
- Assists in the facilitation of goals and related actions steps in Marian Catholic High School’s Strategic Plan in the areas of Catholic identity and Mission Integration.
- Assists in the development and facilitation of faith formation and student wellness activities during Marian Catholic’s Emmaus time.
- Teach at least one class period of Choir.
- Prepare students for Choir concerts and other school related performances such as all school liturgies and possible community events.
- Promote student participation and engagement in choir and related music activities.
- Other job responsibilities as determined by the Director of Campus Ministry.
Salary/Benefits
Salary: 10 months – Starting base salary no less than $44,100 with opportunity for higher base salary depending on experience, education level, and credentials.
