Job Goal: Improve student access to learning by assessing and addressing behaviors that interfere with academic, social, and emotional success.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement proactive behavioral supports within general and special education settings.
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop data-driven Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) that support positive student outcomes and skill development.
- Provide coaching, modeling, and professional development to teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service staff to strengthen effective behavior support practices.
- Use behavioral data to monitor student progress, evaluate intervention effectiveness, and guide instructional and behavioral decision-making.
- Support the implementation of schoolwide and classroom-based positive behavior systems that promote safe, inclusive learning environments.
- Ensure behavioral interventions and practices align with district procedures, special education regulations, and professional ethical standards.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to read and communicate effectively with employees of the District.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in either written diagram or oral form.
- Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects or controls, and reaching with hands and arms.
- Vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- May be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 20 pounds.
