Duties

• Administer first aid and emergency care when necessary.
• Initiate parent contacts to arrange transportation for ill or injured pupils.
• Keep a daily record of all children seen and treated. Complete accident reports as needed.
• Assist in updating and maintaining individual health records as directed by the nurse.
• Provide nondiagnostic assistance to the school nurse with vision and hearing screening.
• Record all screening results as directed by the nurse.
• Assist the nurse as needed with health programs within the schools, e.g., Kindergarten Registration and TB testing.
• Refer all questions regarding Health Service policies to the nurse.
• Assist the school nurse with correspondence, reports, and notification forms as may be assigned.
• Inventory first-aid supplies and stock, and distribute first-aid materials to teachers.
• Administer medication(s) provided by parents and perform any record-keeping functions required by the school nurse.
• Monitor and support students with diabetes
• Perform other duties as requested by the school nurse

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree
• CNA or RN Certifications preferred but not required
• Valid CPR/AED Certifications

Salary/Benefits

$16.00 to $25.00 per hour based on licensure and experience

Additional Notes

Work Day - Up to 4 hours per day

Work Year - 170 Days
