Job Description/Duties: Prairieview-Ogden CCSD #197 is a dedicated K-8 district nestled in the heart of Champaign County, Illinois. PVO serves approximately 250 students across three community-based schools in Flatville, Ogden, and Royal. PVO South is home to approximately 120 students in grades K-6. Our district is defined by a "generational community" feel, benefiting from the support of involved families and the unique closeness of a small-town environment.
We are seeking a passionate special education teacher to join our team at PVO South. The successful candidate will work alongside a seasoned staff of educators whose primary mission is to nurture and educate our students.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Instructional Excellence: Provide engaging instruction across various subject areas and grade levels.
- IEP Management & Legal Compliance:
- Draft and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that comply with Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) standards.
- Meticulously track progress on specific goals to ensure the district remains compliant.
- Lead Annual Review and 3-year Re-evaluation meetings, often acting as the bridge between parents, general education teachers, and the district administration.
- Curriculum Planning: Develop and implement lesson plans that align with district standards and meet diverse student needs.
- Student Support: Present and reinforce core learning concepts through creative and effective teaching methods.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, safe, and productive learning environment.
- Supervision: Perform necessary supervisory duties to ensure student safety and well-being.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or ability to obtain an Illinois PEL.
