Interventionist (w/Reading Specialist

Duties

  • Provide direct intervention services to elementary students in literacy and other identified academic areas
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions aligned to student needs and District curriculum
  • Participate in the MTSS/RtI process including problem-solving meetings, intervention planning, and data review
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate intervention records and documentation
  • Utilize assessment data to identify students requiring intervention support and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, instructional coaches, specialists, and administrators to support student growth
  • Assist in the development and implementation of intervention plans and supports
  • Communicate student progress and intervention information with appropriate staff and families
  • Support universal screening, benchmark assessments, and progress monitoring processes
  • Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment for students
  • Participate in professional learning and staff collaboration opportunities
  • Comply with all District policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • Reading Specialist Endorsement required
  • Successful teaching experience at the elementary level preferred
  • Knowledge of evidence-based reading interventions and literacy instruction
  • Understanding of MTSS/RtI processes, progress monitoring, and data analysis
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism

Salary/Benefits

Starting Salary: Based on Education and Years of Teaching - based on increased negotiated rate higher than last year’s Salary Schedule
