Who We Are:
Pathways In Education (PIE) is an Alternative Learning Opportunities Program (ALOP) serving grades 9 -12 in the Chicago community. Pathways considers the unique needs of every student, allowing access to small group classes, guided independent study, online courses, and experiential learning, to address each student's individual strengths and needs.
PIE is looking for educators that are warm, outgoing, authentic, passionate and inspiring. PIE places great emphasis on the student-teacher relationship, a critical component to the development of students’ personal, emotional, and academic well-being.
Pathways in Education is looking for an Assistant Principal to work at their Humboldt Park location.
Our Ideal Candidate Will:

Meet with students and parents to discuss files and transcripts.

Teach students and coach, support and develop students, moving them toward graduation. Fill in as needed.

Implement the ongoing training and development of staff, including regular teacher observation, feedback and goal settings.

Coach staff members to ensure that they continue to grow in their job knowledge and improve their student outcomes

Facilitate questions or needs of teachers and school administrators (or directs them to the appropriate staff member).

Communicate changes in policies or procedures to all assigned staff, including general announcements that affect center operations or staff involvement.

Oversee the day to day operations in the centers, including the purchase and distribution of supplies.

Monitor growth and make appropriate recommendations to the Principal.

Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences and teacher training workshops.

Perform related duties such as student organizations or committees, assisting pupils in selecting course of study, or counseling students in adjustment and academic problems.

Conduct annual reviews of all assigned staff in consultation with designated supervisor and/or others as appropriate.

Along with the Principal, create and maintain a school environment where student and staff safety is of paramount importance.

Work with teachers to enforce student appropriate discipline policies and procedures.

In collaboration with the principal, monitor staff behavior and performance and provide constructive feedback and/or discipline when necessary

Perform other administrative functions and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
-
Ability to train, direct and delegate responsibility to staff.
-
Ability to work independently and efficiently, exercising reasonable judgment, in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with minimal supervision.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and demonstrate problem-solving skills, while maintaining courtesy and professionalism.

Superior knowledge of company policies, procedures, and program offerings, including use of curriculum, MS Office and company proprietary software (CSIS).

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Salary/Benefits
Salary Range: $98,000 -- $120,000 / year
