Duties
The Head Coach is responsible for all aspects of the basketball program including but not limited to:
- Hiring and evaluating assistant coaches
- Conducting team meetings
- Conducting parent meetings
- Monitoring eligibility of student-athletes
- Modeling sportsmanship for players and assistant coaches
- Providing discipline when necessary
- Managing equipment, uniforms, and supplies
Qualifications
Minimum:
- College Graduate
- 3 years coaching experience at the high school level (Freshman, jv, or varsity)
- Illinois certification for coaching
Certified Illinois teaching license preferred

The Head Boys Basketball Coach at St. Teresa High School is responsible for building and maintaining a competitive and faith-based basketball program that focuses on Catholic principles. This position will include summer and off-season workouts in addition to creating summer camp opportunities for the families of St. Teresa. The Head Coach is responsible for planning, conditioning, and training students at St. Teresa to participate and compete in the basketball program. The Head Coach serves as a role model for Catholic values and is expected to uphold the mission and standards of St. Teresa and the Diocese of Springfield at all times.
