District Bookkeeper / Secretary

Duties

Finance - Office - Human Resources - Reporting - Board Work - Work closely with Superintendent 

Qualifications

High school diploma, additional experience and/or training in technology and school finance/accounting preferred

 

Salary/Benefits

  • Policy exists that specifies that the children of the Bookkeeper-Secretary may attend Rankin on a tuition-free basis.
  • For the new Bookkeeper/Secretary, the District will be implementing a transition/mentoring plan that includes a 5-month period (approximately August 2026 - December 2026) for the new hire to work and train with the current Bookkeeper/Secretary
  • Salaried contract (during the school year, work the same days as teachers, work day (7:00 a.m. or 7:15 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. or 3:15 p.m.) or as approved by Superintendent, 30-minute duty free lunch. Some flexibility exists in regard to the times for the summer schedule.  Also, Friday work days during the summer months are (TBD) at the discretion of the Superintendent.  Holiday, vacation, and leaves determined by Board Policy 5:330 for 12-month support staff.  
  • The salary will be negotiated with the selected candidate based on all factors involved including, but not limited to expertise, skill, and prior experience. It’s anticipated that the starting salary range is $47,400 - $59,200, which will be negotiated as described above. The first-year’s salary will be prorated to reflect a start date after July 1, 2026.  Typically, annual salary is reviewed during the month of June each year with adjustments beginning July 1st of each year.
