Adaptive PE Teacher

Duties

  • Trauma-informed practices
  • Ability to facilitate and support sensory needs/diets
  • Assist with toileting and ADLs as needed
  • Adapt, modify, and differentiate PE activities, equipment, and instructional strategies to accommodate a wide range of disabilities
  • Implement evidence based practices to improve motor skills, fitness, coordination, and functional movement
  • Conduct motor skill assessments and ongoing process monitoring
  • Participate in IEP meetings; write measurable goals, objectives, collect and interpret data on goals and objectives, and prepare progress reports
  • Create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for student with a variety of mobility, sensory, and behavioral needs
  • Extended School Year is required

Qualifications

  • Adaptive PE Endorsement
  • PEL
  • CPI Trained
  • Experience working with students with disabilities (mild to severe)
