Duties

• Responsible for developing individualized education programs (IEP's) and ensuring that curricula meet  the needs of each student
• Following seizure plans, dispersing medications
• ADLs
  • Feeding tubes, lifting, toileting, bathing, positioning, and changing diapers
• Build positive relationships with students and their families
• Trauma-informed practices
• Ability to facilitate and support sensory diet and needs
• Extended School Year is required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Special Education
• Valid Illinois lives as a learning Behavior Specialist-Limited or unlimited
• Skills in the use of behavior management strategies, inclusion strategies, differentiated instruction, and accommodations
• Knowledge of the evaluation, habilitation, and rehabilitation of various disabilities
• PEL
• CPI Trained
