Duties
The School Principal is responsible to the Superintendent for the organization and administration of all educational programs within the school. The primary responsibility of the Principal will be the improvement of instruction; time shall be spent on curriculum and staff development.
Qualifications
1. Eligibility for an Illinois Type 75 administrative certificate 2. Proven success as a teacher and administrator, as well as experience in a multi-ethnic school district 3. Proven leadership skills 4. The ability to coordinate instructional programs 5. The ability to work collaboratively to identify needs, develop viable plans and set priorities 6. The vision and enthusiasm for effective leadership 7. An administrative style based on positive human relations, accessibility, superior listening and communication skills and personal recognition of the contribution of others in the school and the community 8. Recognition of the importance of parent and community involvement in the school
Salary/Benefits
Salary commensurate with experience, based upon elementary principals' salary schedule. Competitive benefits package, including district paid pension.
