Assistant Principal

Duties

Work collaboratively with the Principal to:

? Provide leadership and supervision of all instructional areas in accordance with district philosophy and curriculum guidelines, seeking ways to increase student achievement.

? Implement the discipline policies and procedures of the District and the building; develop and monitor the master schedule and extracurricular activities; evaluate teachers and staff; and coordinate the State and MAP testing programs.

? Check school inventories, end of year obligations of students and faculty, coordinate community/school activities, develop public relations programs and press releases, and plan orientation programs for the teachers, students, and parents.

? Communicate and coordinate safe practices (fire drills, disaster drills, bus evacuation, etc.)

? Coordinate the monthly building calendar/record keeping for faculty and staff.

? Act as case manager for all students with 504 plans, and Local Educational Agency representative for at IEP meetings, and monitor the MTSS and RTI process to ensure implementation of interventions and child find obligations as outlined in District policy and practice.

? Supervise Instructional Assistants, building substitutes and lunch supervisors.

? Serve as the Principal in his/her absence.

Work collaboratively with District Administration to:

? Provide leadership, training, and support in the areas of 21 st Century Learning and effective use of technology.

? Ensure the appropriate implementation of Special Education services to students.

? All other duties as assigned by Principal and/or Superintendent/Designee.

Qualifications

? Strong verbal and written communication skills required

? Strong leadership skills

? Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and community

? Professional Educator License with General Administrative Endorsement required

Salary/Benefits

$96,000 annually or higher commensurate with equivalent work experience.
