Duties
The Career Center of Southern Illinois, a vocational and alternative education cooperative serving ten school districts across Monroe, Randolph, and St. Clair counties, is seeking a Director to begin July 1, 2026.
The Director of the Career Center of Southern Illinois (CCSI) oversees the overall operation of the Beck School of Practical Nursing, the Career Center’s Career and Technical Education programs, and the High School Alternative Program.
Duties of the Director or his/her designee include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare for and facilitate Board of Control meetings
- Develop and administer the schools’ budget
- Approve school expenditures and purchases
- Prepare proposals for grants and school funding
- Maintain communication with districts and schools participating in CCSI programs
- Oversee the supervision and hiring of school personnel
- Make personnel recommendations to the Board of Control
- Complete annual performance evaluations of appropriate school staff
- Support staff with relevant training and professional development opportunities, conduct staff meetings as necessary
- Evaluate High School and Nursing Programs to ensure they are representative of current employer and regional needs
- Ensure CTE programs being offered are relevant to employment trends and workforce needs
- Work with business and industry partners to enhance programs and provide internship and/ or employment opportunities for students.
- Develop strategies for student recruitment and market school programs
- Oversee the upkeep of the facility, maintenance needs, and food service activities to ensure all programs are operating in accordance with state and federal requirements.
- Oversee Financial Aid processes for adult nursing program
- Ensure Beck School of Practical Nursing is maintaining compliance with all accrediting bodies
- Complete state and federal reporting as required
- Oversee Transportation Operations
- Other duties as assigned by the Board of Control
Qualifications
Candidates must possess, or be eligible for, an Administrative Certification and have at least three years of successful experience in teaching, administration, and/or supervisory roles. Candidates must also possess, or be eligible for, an Illinois CTE license.
Salary/Benefits
Salary and Benefits to be determined by the Board of Control based on the candidate’s experience.
