Duties
Identifies and treats communication disorders—including articulation, language, and social pragmatics—that impact a student's ability to succeed in the classroom. By developing IEPs and collaborating with teachers, by ensuring every child has the communication skills needed to access the curriculum and engage with their peers.
Qualifications
Hold a valid IL Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Speech-Language Pathologist endorsement.
Master’s Degree from a recognized NCATE college or university
Out-of-state applicants must meet Illinois certification standards or obtain approval.
Other qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
Must be familiar with the use of computers, including but not limited to electronic mail, the Internet, word processing, and electronic spreadsheets (Microsoft Office, Google, etc.).
Establish and maintain effective and courteous working relationships with those contacted in the course of work (students, parents, and staff).

Ability to communicate with students, parents, and staff in an acceptable/courteous manner.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
Ability to push/pull up to 10 lbs.
Salary/Benefits
Certified Educational Professionals – Local 743 Granite City Federation of Teachers: Starting pay of $53,430 with TRS. *GCSD9 can honor up to 10 years of previous public-school teaching experience at $83,923 with TRS.
