Duties
Demonstrate a commitment to equity, excellence and high expectations for all students and a commitment to the academic and personal well-being of each student. Establish and manage student learning in a safe, positive and respectful learning environment. Develop, plan and implement instruction that addresses the needs of students in a manner that promotes improvements in physical, social and emotional wellness. Maintain accurate and updated grades for students and adhere to departmental and school-wide grading procedures and timelines. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and case managers regarding student progress. Collaborate with teachers to incorporate other content areas into the PE/Health curriculum. Assess student progress, analyze results and adapt instruction to improve student wellness outcomes. Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth through reflection, teacher collaboration and monitoring and assessing professional learning. Participate in regularly scheduled professional development as assigned. Exhibit a high degree of professionalism.
Qualifications
Valid Professional Educator’s License required. Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university required. Physical Education, Health, and Driver’s Education endorsements required. CPR/AED certification desired. Lifeguard certification desired.
Salary/Benefits
Per Faculty Senate collective bargaining agreement, initial placement on the salary schedule between BA and MA+60 depending on the educational level, and Step 1 and 5 depending on experience. Please click here for more information regarding salary andd benefits.
