Jr. High School Secretary Position

Duties

 Job Summary:

The Junior High Secretary provides administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient operation of the junior high school office. This position serves as a primary point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors, maintaining a welcoming and organized environment while handling a wide range of office responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist students, parents, staff, and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
  • Answer and direct phone calls; respond to inquiries and provide information as needed
  • Manage student attendance records, including absences, tardies, and early dismissals
  • Maintain accurate student files and school records in compliance with policies and regulations
  • Assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, and school events
  • Prepare and distribute correspondence, reports, and school communications
  • Support the principal and administrative staff with clerical tasks and special projects
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
  • Operate standard office equipment (copiers, fax machines, computers, etc.)
  • Monitor and maintain office supplies and place orders when necessary
  • Assist with student registration and enrollment processes
  • Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information

 

Qualifications

 Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional administrative training preferred
  • Previous clerical or administrative experience, preferably in an educational setting
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Professional demeanor and customer service skills
