Spanish Teacher

Duties

  1. Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
  2. Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the district.
  3. Prepare for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.
  4. Develop rules of classroom behavior and procedures and maintains those standards which are conducive to effective learning.
  5. Strive to implement by instruction and action the district's philosophy, educational objectives, and instructional goals.
  6. Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  7. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
  8. Abides by and assists in enforcing school rules, administrative regulation, and board policy as found in the student handbook, personnel handbook, MHEA contract, and written notice of policy changes listed in the minutes of the Board of Education.
  9. Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education related purposes as defined in the MHEA contract.
  10. Attend faculty meetings.
  11. Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
  12. Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
  13. Establish and maintain cooperative relations with others.
  14. Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
  15. Meets accepted standards of professional behavior.
  16. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, and in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to the students.
  17. Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct in the classroom and on the campus.
  18. Provides an effective program of instruction based on the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. This should include, but not be limited to:
    1. Review of previously taught material, as needed
    2. Presentation of new material
    3. Use of variety of teaching materials and techniques
    4. Evaluation of student progress on a regular basis
  19. Attends regularly and is punctual in arrival and departing times from buildings, classes, and committee meetings.
  20. Performs all other duties reasonably related to position as may be assigned by Building Administrator or Superintendent and in accordance with the MHEA contract.

Qualifications

Illinois Standard Secondary Teaching License with an endorsement in Spanish.
