Duties

- Demonstrate the core values of the Circle of Courage in all aspects of service to students, staff, school districts and families.
- Identify and assess challenges affecting student or staff adjustment across home, school, community, or professional settings.
- Assists with coordination of intake meetings and supports the transition needs for students entering and exiting the RSSP/HNALOP.
- Serve as a liaison between RSSP and home school to ensure students are adequately prepared for a successful transition when exiting the program.
- Assist with crisis intervention support services when needed for students or staff.
- Serve as a liaison between families and the school to positively promote collaborative processes in planning for students by encouraging parent/guardian participation in the school setting.
- Facilitate tracking/auditing student credits based on graduation requirements from home school districts.
- Meet with students not on track to graduate and, if appropriate, formulating a plan of action for success involving the student and the parent as well as the CEP teacher.
- Track and analyze SEL screener data and collaborate with the mental health team to support student needs.
- Organize and facilitate parent programs in collaboration with the RSSP/HNALOP team.
- Serve on both school-based and system-wide committees to address educational issues, adjustment problems, safety issues, and program development for students.
- Maintain the student data systems, including schedules and report cards
- Assist RSSP Principal/Director with data collection, reporting and management.
- Other duties as assigned by RSSP Principal/Director.
Qualifications
The School Counselor’s role entails supporting student needs as they enter and exit the Regional Safe School Program (RSSP) and High Needs Alternative Learning Opportunities Program (HNALOP). This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with coordination of intake/transition meetings, course scheduling, credit recovery, and other duties as assigned by building administration.

Education Requirements: Masters Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field
Salary/Benefits
Eleven month year. Starting Salary: $55,000 based on experience

Additional Notes
Job Goal: Facilitate credits, course scheduling; collaborate with the administrative team, mental health team, and CEP staff; and successfully plan and execute secondary and post-secondary pathways with students, families, and educational partners.
