Duties
Selmaville School District is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic K–8 Physical Education & Health Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment that promotes physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, teamwork, and personal responsibility among students.
Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging physical education and health instruction for students in grades K–8

Develop age-appropriate lessons aligned with Illinois Learning Standards

Promote physical fitness, sportsmanship, and lifelong wellness habits

Assess student progress and maintain accurate records

Organize and supervise activities, games, and fitness programs
-
Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
-
Collaborate with staff, administration, and families to support student growth

Assist with school events and extracurricular activities as needed
Qualifications
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with endorsement in Physical Education (Health endorsement preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school students
-
Coaching experience or willingness to coach (if applicable)

Knowledge of current best practices in physical education and health instruction
