Head Soccer Coach

Duties

Fisher High School is seeking a passionate and committed Head Soccer Coach to lead the
high school soccer program for the 2025–2026 season. The ideal candidate will be responsible
for the overall direction of the program, including player development, practice planning, game
strategy, and fostering a positive team culture centered on sportsmanship, accountability, and
continuous improvement. The head coach will collaborate with the Athletic Director and
assistant coaches to build a competitive and inclusive program.

The successful candidate will:
 

  • Plan and lead practices focused on skill development, conditioning, and team strategy
  • Promote sportsmanship, academic accountability, and personal growth
  • Manage all game-day operations including lineups, in-game adjustments, and communication with officials
  • Communicate regularly with families, school staff, and administration
  • Oversee assistant coaches and ensure program alignment from varsity through lower levels
  • Ensure compliance with all school, conference, and IHSA rules and guidelines

 

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of soccer fundamentals, rules, and game strategy
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to positively influence high school student-athletes
  • IHSA coaching certification or ability to obtain required licensure
  • CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain
  • Prior coaching experience at the high school level or above preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with student-athletes, families, and staff
  • Commitment to fostering a safe, respectful, and growth-oriented team environment
  • Understanding of the role athletics play in the broader educational experience
  • Ability to manage all aspects of the program including scheduling, inventory, and transportation needs

Salary/Benefits

This position is a stipend position at 14.5%.
