Assistant Principal (PK-8)

Duties

  • Discipline Management: Serve as the primary administrator responsible for student discipline, enforcing the Student Code of Conduct, and ensuring a safe and orderly environment.
  • Behavioral Support: Implement proactive and corrective behavioral strategies and interventions in collaboration with staff.
  • IEP and 504 Participation: Assist the other district administrators in participating as the LEA representative in IEP/ 504 meetings, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Teacher Evaluation: Assist the Principal with the formal evaluation and supervision of certified and non-certified staff, providing constructive feedback for professional growth.
  • General Administration: Assist the Principal in the day-to-day operations of the Breese Building.
  • Assist with Athletic Scheduling: Manage and oversee the scheduling of all district athletic events, practices, and facilities usage for all grade levels.
  • Personnel Supervision: Supervise, evaluate, and provide direction to all athletic coaches and staff.
  • Compliance: Ensure all athletic programs comply with district policies and state athletic association rules and regulations.
  • Supervision of Extracurricular Activities: Supervise assigned extracurricular activities and athletic events, including home and away contests.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Educational Administration, Leadership, or a related field.
  • Completed Principal Licensure (prior to start date).
  • Prior experience in school administration and/or athletic management is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in student discipline and special education law (IDEA/504)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced school environment.
  • Commitment to supporting young learners and their families.

Additional Notes

  • This will be a 10 or 10.5 month position.
