Duties
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will:
- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate successfully with students, staff, and parents
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills

- Display an aptitude for problem solving and facilitating the work of others
- Maintain confidentiality of records and information
INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP ROLE:
- Coach and model best instructional practices for all staff members
- Active participant in team/department/staff meetings regarding the development of curriculum
- Work in conjunction with other administrators to develop and lead professional development for staff
- Evaluate certified and classified staff annually
- Complete walkthroughs of classrooms and provide appropriate feedback and support to staff
- Lead 504 meetings to make sure they follow district policy, school law, federal guidelines, while making decisions in the best interest of students
- Participate in special education meetings to make appropriate academic and behavior plans for students (may be asked to facilitate meetings)
BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTION & SUPPORT:
- Collaborate with staff to track behavioral referrals, evaluate instructional/behavioral programs, monitor student progress, and implement behavioral interventions
- Use restorative practices to promote positive relationships and facilitate conflict resolution
- Co-lead staff and student education around social-emotional learning
- Share all aspects of student discipline, intervention, and safety with the building principal and/or assistant principal
- Collaborate with special education staff to understand the function of student behavior as it relates to a child’s disability
- Support staff with the implementation of Board policies and legal requirements
SUPERVISION:
- Support lunchroom and before/after-school activities by supervising and assisting at events
COMMUNICATION:
- Promote interaction between or among staff, students and community and expresses a clear vision for the school that is compatible with District goals
- Foster excellent communication among parents, teachers and students concerning student progress and student discipline
- Stay current and informed on District directives related to policy, proactive student discipline practices, curriculum, instruction and staff development
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- General administrative and organizational skills
- Crisis Prevention Intervention Training
- Expertise in Restorative Practices
- Special education/504 experience preferred but not required
- Other duties as assigned by administration
Qualifications
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Type 75 and or administrative license certificate
- Passed Teacher Evaluator Modules
- Five years teaching or related educational experience (i.e. social worker)
