Duties
SUMMARY
The Assistant Athletic Coach supports the Head Athletic Coach in the development and implementation of a comprehensive athletic program. This position assists in coaching student-athletes, managing team operations, and ensuring a positive and safe athletic environment. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to develop student-athletes' skills, promote sportsmanship, and adhere to all district, state, and league regulations.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Coaching Assistance:
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices and games.
- Provide instruction and guidance to student-athletes in sport-specific skills, strategies, and techniques.
- Demonstrate and teach proper athletic techniques and safety procedures.
- Assist in evaluating student-athlete performance and providing constructive feedback.
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and organizing clinics as directed by Administration.
- Team Support:
- Assist in the supervision of student-athletes during practices, games, and team events.
- Help maintain and organize athletic equipment and facilities.
- Help with the record keeping of athlete attendance, and performance.
- Student-Athlete Development:
- Promote a positive and supportive team environment.
- Encourage and reinforce sportsmanship, teamwork, and ethical conduct.
- Assist in monitoring student-athlete academic progress and behavior.
- Help to ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes.
- Administrative Support:
- Assist in the preparation of practice plans and game strategies.
- Help maintain accurate records of team activities.
- Assist in communicating with parents and guardians.
- Adhere to all district, state, and league rules and regulations.
- Collaboration:
- Work in collaboration with the head coach and other assistant coaches to ensure a cohesive athletic program.
- Maintain open lines of communication with the head coach regarding player progress, and team needs.
Salary/Benefits
Minimum salary will be $4,376 based on the number of years in that position as currently computed on the extracurricular salary schedule.

Additional Notes
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work may be performed in indoor and outdoor settings.
- May require evening and weekend hours.
- May involve travel to away games and events.
