ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned.
- Lead the development and implementation of district-wide systems for data analysis and intervention planning across all schools.
- Lead, supervise, and evaluate Curriculum Coordinator, Instructional Coaches, Grant Directors.
- Collaborate with administration to ensure effective coordination, support, and utilization of all programs, focusing on vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment across grade levels.
- Direct and support curriculum improvement by continually evaluating and revising courses of study, developing new courses, creating instructional guides, performance tasks, and local assessments, and managing the adoption of instructional materials.
- Drive continuous improvement by regularly reviewing and updating curriculum and academic approaches to enhance the learning environment, focusing on increasing college and career readiness and decreasing the dropout rate.
- Design and implement district-wide systems for the effective use and understanding of a variety of assessments, including screening tools, formative, and summative measures, to guide instructional planning and intervention strategies.
- Assist in the development, planning, coordination, and analysis of professional development initiatives.
- Work with school and district-wide data teams to support student learning, growth, and effective instruction.
- Directs, coordinates, implements and monitors some federal grants which includes Title I, and Title II grants.
- Collaborate with the administrative leadership team district-wide, fostering a strong sense of teamwork, and serving on relevant committees.
- Report progress and improvement efforts to the Superintendent and School Board as required.
- Demonstrate a balance between organizational rigor and necessary flexibility in managing responsibilities.
- Maintain a record of regular and reliable attendance.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
KNOWLEDGE – The ideal candidate must possess comprehensive knowledge of:
- Extensive understanding of programs, services, and operational typicalities within a Unit School District, including current general policies, rules, and regulations.
- Proven knowledge of the principles and practices of effective organization, administration, and personnel management specific to a public secondary school environment.
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal education laws and regulations.
- Deep familiarity with high-leverage, research-based instructional strategies and models designed to significantly improve teaching and learning practices across the district.
- Understanding of various stages of student development and expertise in a variety of assessment systems used to measure student growth and inform instruction.
- Knowledge of effective collaborative and supportive practices, specifically within the structure and function of a Professional Learning Community (PLC).
SKILLS – The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in:
- Exceptional ability to provide decisive leadership, organize complex initiatives, and manage the administration of the Academic Services unit efficiently.
- Advanced skill in analyzing and interpreting diverse educational data to assess student progress, identify trends, inform instructional practice, and drive organizational objectives.
- Expertise in planning, managing, and executing complex projects and systemic reform initiatives to successful completion, specifically those aimed at closing the achievement gap and managing large-scale organizational change.
- Skilled in using a formal performance evaluation tool to accurately assess and provide meaningful feedback to instructional personnel.
- Proficient in operating standard office equipment, utilizing relevant technology, and preparing and maintaining accurate, detailed records.
ABILITIES- The role requires the ability to:
- Effectively adapt to changing work priorities, manage competing deadlines and schedules, and set clear, strategic priorities for self and staff.
- Efficiently organize and manage a significant volume of activities, meetings, and district-wide events. This includes the capability to routinely gather, collate, and classify various types of detailed data with precision.
- Work effectively as part of the district leadership team to communicate clearly and confidently with diverse groups, including staff, parents, and community stakeholders.
- Utilize independent problem-solving skills to analyze complex issues, develop data-driven action plans, and resolve challenges based on organizational goals.
- Consistently maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive student and personnel information.
Salary/Benefits
Salary range is $110,000 – $130,000 plus Board paid TRS and benefits package available. Salary placement will be determined by graduate degree/hours and level of experience.
