Reports To: School Administrator

Job Summary: The Elementary Student Council Assistant Director supports the Student Council Director in guiding and mentoring students involved in the school's Student Council. This role assists in facilitating student leadership development, encouraging civic engagement, and supporting the planning and execution of student-led initiatives that benefit the school community. The Assistant Director will help empower students to voice their ideas, develop problem-solving skills, and learn the democratic process in a fun and supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Required:
    • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (or significant relevant experience in youth leadership/mentoring).
    • Experience working with elementary-aged children.
    • Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and guide young learners.
    • Strong organizational, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
    • A passion for student empowerment and civic education.
    • Ability to commit to regular after-school meetings and occasional school events.
    • Successful completion of a background check.

Salary/Benefits

Compensation: 1% of the base salary (lane 1 step 1) of the current 2025-2028 Collective Bargaining Agreement
