Duties

Responsibilities

  • Support and uphold the Catholic mission of the school.
  • Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers in order to coordinate instructional efforts.
  • Work individually or within a small group of students regarding academic support and executive skill development.
  • Present subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers and re-teaching information to students.
  • Serve as a resource person, if and when requested, to the Student Services team conferring about one of the students to whom assigned.
  • Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeteria, and gymnasium.
  • Distribute teaching materials, tests, and homework assignments when necessary.
  • Proctor tests/quizzes to students needing testing accommodations when necessary.
  • Assist the classroom teacher in other tasks necessary in maintaining a professional and positive classroom environment, and performs other aide duties as may be assigned by the classroom teacher, Student Support Coordinator, and/or administrator. 
  • Practice positive, consistent discipline in the management of student behavior.
  • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to complete an integrated plan for developing the needs of students.
  • Establish positive relationships and rapport with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Participate in our House System's activities, events, and opportunities to connect with colleagues and students.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree or higher
  • Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Professional Educators License or Certificate with endorsement in the following areas:
    • Special education
    • Social work
    • School psychology
