Duties

The RISE Center Program Administrator is primarily responsible for overseeing all of the District’s alternative education programs housed at the RISE Center at Columbia School.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing oversight for the various alternative education programs housed at RISE (ACTIONS Alternative to Suspension Program, Elementary Restore, Middle School Restore, Novak Academy, Illinois High School Diploma Program, Propel, K-12 Early Intervention Support, Tier 3 Planning/Coaching, Family Focus, etc.) consistent with the District’s mission and vision.
  • Providing direct assistance to District buildings and programs by supporting behavioral, instructional, and administrative practices as well as participating on/contributing to school improvement efforts/teams.
  • Continuously reviewing the District’s alternative programming and proposes and executes changes necessary to ensure the needs of students are being met.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Illinois Professional Educator License with General Administrative Endorsement
  • Completion of State-approved prequalification modules to serve as a Teacher Evaluator prior to start date
  • Prior successful teaching/administrative experience
  • Knowledge of and experience with alternative education programs
  • Ability to develop supportive, collaborative relationships with district and school leaders, teachers, and other stakeholders
  • Cultural competency and ability to navigate and promote sensitivity with issues of race and equity
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable

Salary/Benefits

The entry level base salary for this position is $98,200 plus highly competitive benefits, including 100% Board-paid TRS contributions and 100% Board-paid employee-only health, dental, and term life insurance.  There is a minimal employee cost for vision insurance.  Additional compensation above the base is offered to candidates based on their number of years of successful administrative experience.  Questions about salaries or fringe benefits should be directed to the Human Resources Office.

Additional Notes

The Rise Center at Columbia is housed in the beautifully renovated Columbia building. Columbia was built in 1905 and has housed many schools and programs over the years. It is now the home of Unit 4's alternative education programs. The Rise Center consists of Novak Academy, Middle School Restore, Elementary Restore, ACTIONS, ACTIONS Apex, and after-school Novak GED. The Rise Center services students from 1st through 12th grade and focuses on making strong student/family connections to help students overcome previous difficulties. All placements into an alternative education are a collaborative agreement between the student, family, and the district.
