Duties

The Director of School Improvement (PreK-12) is primarily responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to enhance student achievement and close opportunity gaps across the District. This position coordinates District-wide efforts focused on continuous school improvement, supports high-quality instructional practices, and ensures equitable access to learning for all students. The Director will work collaboratively with school and District leaders to implement and monitor initiatives aligned with the District’s strategic plan.

Qualifications

  • Illinois Professional Educator License with General Administrative Endorsement
  • A minimum of five (5) years of successful administrative experience in educational leadership, with demonstrated success in improving student achievement as a Principal
  • Demonstrated effective relationships with colleagues through their work as Principal and/or district leader
  • Experience in school turnaround, instructional leadership, or district-level improvement roles
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MTSS/RTI frameworks, data analysis, and instructional best practices
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and present data to drive innovation and improvement
  • Cultural competency and ability to navigate and promote sensitivity with issues of race and equity
  • Effective strategic planning capabilities, including the ability to establish long-term vision and goals, and align/manage activities toward goal fulfillment
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable

Salary/Benefits

  • The entry level base salary for this position in SY26 is $106,962, plus highly competitive benefits, including 100% Board-paid TRS contributions and 100% Board-paid employee-only health, dental, and term life insurance.  There is a minimal employee cost for vision insurance.  Additional compensation above the base is offered to candidates based on their number of years of successful administrative experience.
