Duties
Community Consolidated School District 62 in Des Plaines, Illinois is seeking a district Grants Manager for the 25-26 school year.
This is a 12 month, part time administrative position with flexible days and hours.
The Grants Manager is responsible for securing and managing external funding opportunities to support the school district's key initiatives. This position is responsible for identifying grant opportunities, writing grant proposals, ensuring compliance, and overseeing grant budgets and expenditures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and manage grants and funding opportunities along with ensuring funds are allocated effectively and transparently.
- Identify, research, and evaluate grant opportunities from federal, state, local foundations, and corporate sources that align with the district's goals and initiatives.
- Write and prepare grant proposals, grant applications, and supporting documents that effectively communicate the district's needs and goals.
- Collaborate with district staff to gather data and information required for grant applications.
- Oversee the entire grant management process, including proposal submission,grant award acceptance, compliance with grant terms and regulations, and timely reporting.
- Maintain a comprehensive calendar of grant deadlines and requirements.
- Develop, monitor, and manage budgets for each grant, ensuring that funds are allocated appropriately and in compliance with grant guidelines.
- Track grant expenditures and work closely with the Business Office to ensure compliance..
- Collaborate with district leaders in these areas to align grant applications with educational goals.
- Collaborate with district leaders, school administrators, teachers, and other stakeholders to gather input and feedback for grant proposals.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with funding agencies and partners.
- Ensure that grant activities adhere to grant guidelines and legal requirements.
- Serve as conduit among Instructional Services, Student Services and the Business Office to ensure excellent communication and seamless management and implementation of grants.
- Prepare and submit timely reports to grantors, including program outcomes,budget tracking, and any required documentation.
- Serve as liaison with ISBE and other appointed personnel who provide oversight of grant programs at the state and federal level.
- Consult with private schools and other entities as required for the purposes of carrying out grant functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Licensure and Experience:
- Illinois Professional Educator License with administrative endorsement strongly preferred.
- Solid and diverse administrative experience.
- Prior successful experience in fundraising, grant writing or grants management.
- Experience in a K-12 setting is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to leadership, performance and professional growth.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks and conflicting time constraints.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
- Ability to organize, develop, coordinate, and implement projects.
- Ability to prepare oral or written communications for distribution to the Board of Education, employees, students and parents.
- Demonstrated analytical and persuasive writing skills experience as well as superior editing skills, including ability to convey complex information in a clear manner to a diverse audience.
- Strong administrative skills and self-motivation with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks under minimal supervision in an effective and efficient manner.
- Excellent skills in Google Suite (specifically Sheets, Docs and Slides).
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Proven experience in grant writing, proposal development, and grant management, especially in K-12 education.
- Familiarity with grant budgeting and financial management, including bookkeeping for grants.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Exceptional communication, writing, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in grant research and grant management tools and software.
- Attention to detail, ability to work independently, and meet deadlines.
Salary/Benefits
Compensation:
This is a 12-month, flexible part-time position not to exceed 950 hours. The hourly rate range for this position is $45-$50 per hour.
