Duties

Position Summary:

• Microschool classroom: Guaranteed student roster cap at only 15 students
• Excellent student behavior
• Supportive parent-partnership!
• No recess or lunch duties
• 1.5-2 hours of lunch and preparation time daily

 The 5th Grade Elementary Classroom Teacher is responsible for delivering comprehensive instruction across core subjects, including Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. The teacher will create a supportive and engaging classroom environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth, preparing students for the transition to middle school. 

Note: Religion class is taught by a different teacher.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Development & Instruction:
  Design and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards and school curriculum, utilizing diverse instructional strategies to meet the varied learning needs of students.
  
  
• Assessment & Evaluation:
  Employ formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and adjusting instruction accordingly.
  
  
• Classroom Management:
  Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and appropriate behavior.
  
  
• Differentiated Instruction:
  Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students have access to the curriculum.
  
  
• Technology Integration:
  Incorporate technology to enhance learning experiences and support instructional goals.
  
  
• Collaboration & Communication:
  Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the school community to support student learning and development.
  
  
• Professional Development:
  Participate in ongoing professional learning opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.
