Duties

- Screen all incoming students for ELL services based on HLS
- Create parent notification of ELL screener scores and services that the student qualifies for 
- Create ELL file for student based on ISBE guidelines
- Provide scaffolding supports for ELL students based on their needs
- Provide extra English supports through a push in, pull out, or collaborative teaching model
- Work closely with classroom teacher to align instruction/supports for ELL students
- Front load concepts/information, introduce new concepts/information, or review 
  concepts/information for ELL students based on curriculum 
- Help students strengthen their English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills using 
   appropriate materials and supports
- ACCESS test student in during the January - February window
 

Qualifications

• Licensure qualifying the applicant for the position.
  • Professional Educator License - PEL
  • ESL Endorsement 
• Demonstrate proficiency in instructional and classroom management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Understand English Language Learners screening tools 
• Understand WIDA standards and domains
• Understand and be able to interpret ACCESS test data
• Understand Home Language Survey guidelines (HLS)
